EFN Privacy Policy – January 2026

This EFN Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or use the services available at efncourses.eu (the “Site”).

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or courses that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

  • “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

Additionally, when you register for or purchase access to a course through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, email address, billing address, and payment information (including credit card numbers). We refer to this information as “Registration and Order Information.”

When you access and use our courses, we also collect information about your learning activity on the Site. This includes your course enrollment status, progress through course materials, steps completed, time spent on course content, quiz attempts, quiz scores, pass/fail status, and the date and time of your last login. We refer to this as “Learning Data.”

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking about Device Information, Registration and Order Information, and Learning Data.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We use the Registration and Order Information that we collect to fulfill any orders or course registrations placed through the Site, including processing your payment information and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations.

Additionally, we use this information to:

  • Communicate with you about your registration, course access, and any updates to our services;
  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
  • When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information relating to our courses or services.

We use Learning Data to monitor and report on course engagement and completion rates, assess the effectiveness of our educational content, generate aggregated management reports on platform usage, and improve the quality and design of our courses. This processing is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests as an educational organisation in understanding and improving our course offerings.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our users browse and interact with the Site).

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We share your Personal Information with third parties only where necessary to operate the Site and deliver our services, as described below.

We use LearnDash, a learning management system, to deliver course content and track learner progress. Learning Data is stored within our Site’s database, which is hosted by Combell.

From time to time, we may use third-party tools or services to analyse anonymised or aggregated learning data for internal reporting purposes. Where such tools involve the transfer of Personal Information, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including data processing agreements where required.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

We do not sell your Personal Information to third parties.

BEHAVIOURAL ADVERTISING
We do not currently use your Personal Information for targeted behavioural advertising based on your learning activity. If this changes, we will update this policy accordingly and seek your consent where required.

DO NOT TRACK
Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

YOUR RIGHTS
If you are a European resident, you have the following rights regarding your Personal Information:

  • The right to access the personal information we hold about you;
  • The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • The right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal obligations;
  • The right to object to or request restriction of certain processing activities;
  • The right to data portability where processing is carried out by automated means; and
  • The right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit) at www.dataprotectionauthority.be.

We process your Personal Information on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (for Registration and Order Information), legitimate interests (for Learning Data and Device Information), and legal obligation where applicable.

DATA RETENTION
We retain your Registration and Order Information for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you with access to our services, and for a period thereafter as required for legal or administrative purposes.

We retain Learning Data for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including for reporting and course improvement purposes. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymise your Personal Information within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.

CHANGES
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. Where changes are material, we will notify registered users by email or by a prominent notice on the Site before the changes take effect.
